Steve Johnson had a big day catching passes, but could not reverse a bad defeat for the Bills against the Chargers, 37-10, in San Diego.
Ryan Fitzpatrick went without a score on 13 for 34 passing for only 176 yards and two picks. Philip Rivers put up better numbers for the Chargers, and wound up 24 for 33 with 240 yards passing, three touchdowns and one fumble.
C.J. Spiller rushed for 46 yards on 12 carries in addition to three receptions for 10 yards. Johnson was a leading receiver, hauling in four passes for 116 yards.
The Buffalo defense surrendered 150 yards rushing and 216 passing. They sacked Rivers two times.
Chargers tight end Antonio Gates had a big game, putting up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Running back Ryan Mathews also had a good game with 114 rushing yards and 34 receiving.
The Bills will play host to the Dolphins (4-9) next week while the Chargers play against the Ravens (10-3), also at home.
