Steve Johnson had a big day catching passes, highlighting a narrow victory for the Bills over the Patriots, 34-31, at home.
Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for a respectable 369 yards on 27 of 40 passing, two touchdowns and two picks. On the Patriots side, Tom Brady went 30 for 45 with 387 yards passing, four touchdowns and four picks.
Fred Jackson was a standout player for the Bills, rushing for 74 yards on 12 attempts with a touchdown in addition to five receptions for 87 yards. Johnson was a top receiver, catching eight passes for 94 yards with a touchdown.
The Buffalo defense also played a key role in the victory, picking up four interceptions while returning one interception for a touchdown.
Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker gave a standout effort with 217 receiving yards, 19 rushing and two touchdowns. Tight end Rob Gronkowski also had a good game with 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The Bills travel to Cincinnati next week to meet the Bengals (1-2) while the Patriots visit Oakland to take on the Raiders (2-1).
