C.J. Spiller had a big day, but it wasn't enough to avoid a loss for the Bills against the Titans, 23-17, at home.
Ryan Fitzpatrick finished 29 for 46 with 288 yards, one touchdown and one fumble. Matt Hasselbeck ended up going 16 of 25 with 140 yards passing, no touchdowns and no interceptions for the Titans.
Spiller was a bright spot for the Bills, running for 83 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown in addition to three receptions for 19 yards. In the first quarter, he made the most of an opening for a 35-yard score. Steve Johnson snagged five balls for 52 yards with a score.
The Buffalo defense struggled against the running game, but was able to slow down the pass, giving up 130 yards passing and 187 rushing. They tackled Hasselbeck for a sack.
Titans running back Chris Johnson could not be contained, putting up 153 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Next week, the Bills head to San Diego to face the Chargers (4-7) while the Titans host the Saints (9-3).
